Art Director

At Godfrey Dadich we believe design is a lot more than the way something looks. It’s the way something works—from a single line of typeset copy to a global communications platform. We’re looking for an art director with a strong background in advertising to join our growing creative team.

 

You want to tell a brand’s story. You are a multi-platform thinker by default, interested in the distinct creative opportunities each provides. You shape big ideas that turn into compelling executions that move people. You design identity systems that are aesthetically strong yet rigorous in their design and application in any medium. You’re comfortable with campaign development and are looking to blend/meld/expand your skill set in producing editorial-style content.

 

You are both a leader and a collaborator, capable of bringing together designers with a diverse set of backgrounds and skill sets to invent something new. This role balances the responsibilities of leading a project team and rolling up your sleeves to produce work. Whatever the brief, you seek to build an authentic connection with audiences that surprises and delights.

 

Most of all, you are committed to participating in the co-creation of a new kind of design firm.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

Lead projects from concept to delivery across a wide range of formats: brand systems, web, social media, print, out-of-home, event, video, animation, etc.

Managing a project team (or three) across multiple goals and timelines to drive projects forward.

Translating business requirements into innovative and intuitive design solutions.

Skilled communication with the client. This role requires clearly conveying the intent of the work to our partners and building relationships with our clients.

Work closely with a team of designers, copywriters, account managers, strategists, and project managers to develop, refine, and elevate the creative.

 

Qualifications include:

5+ years experience working in a design or advertising environment, with a majority of those years devoted to creating innovative campaigns and branding.

Experience in editorial design or production is a plus. Interest in exploring new territory in brand editorial is a must.

Strong knowledge of interaction design principles.

Experience directing motion and broadcast.

Proven facility using typography, imagery, grid systems, and color to develop compelling and conceptually strong design solutions at the highest aesthetic level.

Highly collaborative and resourceful with excellent communication skills. A self-starter who proactively sets benchmarks and aligns expectations internally and externally.

Strong comfort level with iterative design processes.

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.

Demonstrated fluency with design tools including the full suite of Adobe Creative Cloud and Sketch. Competency working in Keynote and G Suite products.

Junior Designer

This role will live at the intersection of editorial content creation and innovative marketing and brand work. Projects will cross a wide range of disciplines: brand identity development, campaign concept development, web design, and editorial design and art direction. Prior experience in all of these areas is not required, but an eagerness to learn and collaborate is a must.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Producing and commissioning work for a wide range of formats: print, web, social media, brand identity, out-of-home, video, animation, Keynote, among others.

Presenting your concepts and design rounds to the internal team for feedback.

Working closely with a team of designers, copywriters, account managers, and strategists to refine and elevate the creative.

 

Qualifications include:

Previous experience working in a professional design environment.

Highly collaborative and resourceful. A self-starter who proactively moves projects forward between reviews.

Excellent communication skills. Must be able to articulate, document, and present the logic underlying a proposed design.

Strong comfort level with an organic and iterative design process. Approaches feedback as an opportunity to learn and improve as an individual and as a team.

Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail. Has a keen interest in typography and grid, and follows current trends in design.

Demonstrated fluency with design tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, and Keynote. Animation/motion or programming skills are a plus.

Junior Project Manager

You have the steely nerves and foresight commonly found in air traffic control rooms. You’ll be bringing your skills to bear in a fast-moving design firm while multiple deadlines, projects, and personalities are careening towards you at lightning speed. You will be the one responsible for the successful flow of print and digital work between creatives, editors, production gurus, and account managers. You must take initiative, be proactive, and ensure that projects are carried out on time at the highest level of quality.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Developing and updating schedules and project plans based on SOWs, client briefs, and input from the account and creative leads.

Ensuring teams are briefed properly and that all deliverables, dependencies, timelines, and budgets are understood.

Working alongside creatives, account managers, editors, and the production team to create compelling and beautiful content.

Managing the approval process for internal and external stakeholders in partnership with relevant department and project leads.

Tracking all assigned projects and keeping department and project lead(s) abreast of workload and day-to-day updates.

Leading and actively participating in all internal status meetings on assigned accounts.

Anticipating and communicating team needs, project gating issues, and general updates throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Qualifications include:

± 2 years of experience working in a project management role, ideally in a design or design-related context.

Deep understanding of the content development process (web, advertising, social, etc.) and its critical dependencies.

Highly collaborative, resourceful, and motivated, the ideal candidate is a self-starter who proactively moves projects forward.

Excellent communication skills; must be able to articulate, document, and present the status of a project and the key dependencies to get it to completion.

Strong comfort level and flexibility for an organic and iterative design process.

Abnormally well organized with strong attention to detail.

Familiar with Slack, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Microsoft Office, Airtable, and Keynote.
